I think that all twentysomethings go through the same thing. Admittedly, I'm at the beginning, but most people are starting their careers, asking, "Is this
what I'm going to be doing for the next 40 years?". To me it's a feeling of being lost that transcends college status.
College has had it's standouts, Animal House, PCU, Rules of Attraction, etc. I think TV shows are a better example, though I too think it's a bit of an untapped resource. Though it's hard to make a connection to the promiscuity, pining, drunken nights, all-nighters, and struggles if you haven't been there to experience them. Though overall themes work regardless of setting.
The "college" movies you listed are ages old now! Even american pie is how old? And it didn't have much to do with it anyhow.
I don't know if I agree that all twenty somethings go through that. It seems more like the college segment does. The ones that didn't go have 4+ years of finding what they're doing or had a career in mind that they went for instead.
I dunno. I think a lot of movies just miss the mark. I hate when they try and cram in relationships that don't belong.
I just realized I've had LOL on my queue forever. Maybe ill bump it cos now I'm curious.
